The Start Strong for Long Day Care program provides funding to deliver affordable, quality preschool education to children aged 3 and above who are enrolled in eligible long day care services in NSW. Funding is provided for children in the 2 years before school and incentivises enrolments of 600 hours per year.
Three Day Guarantee
From January 5th, 2026, all families eligible for Australian Government’s Child Care Subsidy will be entitled to a guaranteed minimum of 72 hours of subsidised early childhood education and care per fortnight (equivalent to 3 days per week), also known as the 3-Day Guarantee.

Families experiencing hardship may be eligible for Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS), providing extra financial support so children can continue accessing quality early learning.
